Although most people join us because they want a chance to act,
there are many other ways in which you can get involved. Putting on a
play is a team effort and could not happen without the lighting and
sound designers and technicians, props and costumes, the stage manager,
the set construction team and the front of house staff, not to mention
the director whose task it is to bring all these together.
If
you have skills in any of these areas, or want to learn, we would
welcome you as a member. Although our main efforts go into the 2 or 3
full-scale productions we put on each year, we also have playreadings
and occasionally put on one act plays in our Clubrooms or
other
venues, which gives
new directors and actors a chance to try out their skills. Theatre
outings and other related activities take place throughout the year.
The annual subscription is £24.00, which entitles you to participate in
all of the club's activities and to receive newsletters. You are
welcome to come along to any of our events free of charge to meet us
and find out more, but you will be expected to become a paid up member
if you are offered an acting role or if you want to direct. You can
join as an Associate Member (subscription £12) if you just want to help
backstage or front of house.
For further details and to find out the date of our next meeting,
contact our secretary, Jo Barrow HERE.
Our clubrooms are located in Brunswick St Lane, off Montgomery Street
in Leith. (map)
